White Wine & Butter @ Greer Golf Information

White Wine & Butter @ Greer Golf, located at 2299-A Gap Creek Rd in Greer, SC, brings a fresh, high-end take on Southern cooking, and after dining here, I finally understand why the reviews are so enthusiastic. The space sits right on the golf course, giving the dining room a relaxed clubhouse feel, and the staff seems genuinely excited to walk guests through the menu and describe how each dish is prepared.

What stood out first were the appetizers. Several diners mentioned how impressive they were, and I completely agree. The deviled eggs topped with crispy oysters show how the kitchen layers flavor-lightly salty, perfectly seasoned, and nothing overpowering. The giant meatball is another favorite, especially with its slow-cooked sauce that tastes like it came out of someone’s family recipe book. These early bites set a high bar and make it easy to see why so many guests rave about the starters in their reviews.

The Caesar salad deserves its own spotlight. It’s surprisingly bold, thanks to smoked onions and a satisfying amount of cheese. Even small touches like the pickled okra show how the kitchen thinks about texture and balance, and it’s the kind of salad people come back for. While some visitors note that their entrées took a bit longer to arrive, the flavors tend to make up for the wait-especially when the dish is as memorable as the fried chicken.

Speaking of the fried chicken, it’s one of the most talked-about items on the menu. Brined in sweet tea for a full day, it comes out juicy with a light, crisp coating seasoned with a touch of heat. It’s the type of dish that wins over both Southern-food loyalists and first-time visitors. Paired with macaroni and cheese, it becomes a comfort-food plate that satisfies everyone at the table. Shrimp and grits also get high praise, especially for their rich, “smack-your-mama good” flavor, as one reviewer put it.

The atmosphere is friendly without being stiff, and the staff-especially servers like Charlize-clearly play a big role in creating a pleasant dining experience. Guests also mention Chef Michael coming out to say hello, which adds a personal touch you don’t see often.

With its beautiful location, thoughtful menu, and a growing list of enthusiastic reviews, White Wine & Butter @ Greer Golf has become one of the most talked-about dining spots in the area.

What People's Say About Place

The appetizers went above my expectations — they were delicious and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the main course didn’t live up to the same standard. It took quite a long time to arrive and was disappointing compared to the starters.

Go to this restaurant. Period, just go. Don’t question it. I don’t exactly know where to begin because the food was outstanding. Every single thing we ordered was delicious, perfectly balanced and mind blowing. The service was great too, Charlize was our server, she did a great job! We got the deviled eggs with oysters and meatball as an appetizer. The eggs were perfect, it had their specialty seasoning, which is the best thing ever…I want some so I can sprinkle it on everything I eat at home. The oyster batter was seasoned so well, salty but not too much. The meatball was giant, it was so juicy and the sauce tasted like an Italian grandmother made it. I got a Caesar salad, the best one I’ve ever had, the smoked onions on it take it to a whole other level. It had the perfect amount of dressing and parm on top, it’s also served with picked okra which my little one ate every bit of. My husband got the shrimp and grits, it was smack your mama good. And my girls split the fried chicken, the fried chicken was the best fried chicken I’ve ever had and I’m a southern girl so I’ve had a lot of fried chicken. Charlize, our server told us it was brined in sweet tea for 24 hours, it was so juicy. The breading is perfectly season with hot sauce and I’m not sure what else, it’s also not a heavy breading but it was still crispy and crunchy. I didn’t have any of the Mac and cheese that came with the fried chicken but judging by my daughter’s face when she took the first bite that it was yummy. My girls split the chicken and they ate the whole thing, I had a few bites and so did my husband. We chose not to have dessert because we indulged in appetizers and dinner but next time we are getting dessert for sure. Chef Michael came out to the table and chatted with us, such a kind man. I thanked him for sharing his talents with us. He’s a true gift. I am sharing pictures but most everything had already been eaten because the food had my full attention.

Beautiful location on a golf course . Clubhouse atmosphere the service was excellent very helpful and selections and describing the food to us we got exactly what we asked for the whole fried chicken and macaroni and cheese side was the best fried chicken I ever had in my life we split it between three people, but also had the lemon pasta which was a dish all of its own. I can’t even say it tasted like anything I ever had before very unique and delicious the Caesar salad had tons of cheese in it lots of flavor we’re going to have to go back and try some more things we didn’t get to. I heard there’s a Sunday brunch too, so I’m excited about trying thathighly recommend it. Specially if you love southern high-end cuisine.

We had an exceptional fine dining experience. From the moment we walked in, the modern and classy decor set the tone for a special girls day luncheon. Our server was attentive and welcoming, starting us off with a refreshing offer of water. The menu selection was impressive, and my dining companions were equally thrilled. The food arrived promptly, and the presentation was stunning. But the real highlight was the taste – each dish exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend for a special occasion or night out!

Unbelievably good. Chef Micheal is the winner on Chopped so we decided to make this a bucket list item. Started with a few appetizers- crab cake and spring roll. Then had eggs Benedict w an alligator sausage- delish! Also the Beef Bone broth w mushroom risotto and Shrimp and grits. We topped off a few desserts and after dinner drink. This restaurant does not disappoint! It is delicious southern cooking elevated to a new level. Lots of parking and plenty of tables. It is located within the Greer Golf Course. Don’t miss this. I’ll be going back!

i loved my dining experience at white wine. the golf club was beautiful and i loved the interior of the restaurant. the food was amazing! i got the fresh pasta with shrimp and it was delicious. i recommend to get the bread as your app to dip it in that delicious creamy sauce. our server, who’s name was jaime i think, was kind and attentive. thank you for a wonderful evening, will be back again! i love supporting small business

Overall, great food and experience. The shrimp and grits were delish. Grits were well cooked with good flavor... the surrounding sauce reminded me of the flavor of a really good brown gravy with the addition of some cajun seasoning. Shrimp was cooked perfect. Would order again. Being my first time here, everyone at the table tried each other's dishes... Steak was cooked perfect and tender, flavor was a little less bold than I normally like my steaks. The risotto was fabulous and creamy. The addition of some cajun butter on the steak with a deep seer would suite the overall theme of the restaurant and really add a kick to an already good steak. The real star at the table in my humble opinion was the pasta dish, limoncello. The noodles are hand made here and it really is obvious - they have a fantastic texture. The sauce is very similar to a home made Alfredo sauce if you like white sauces. The beignets were as-expected if you've had them before. They were small and bite size as a shareable at the table. Everyone enjoyed them. The only thing I had that I was not a fan of was the shishito salad... the dressing and the salad it's self was actually really good, but what I believe was blue cheese was just overpowering. If you like blue cheese then you should love it though. We came here for the Easter brunch and will be back.
